2008 ENDURO 200 RULES
- 80 or newer 4 cylinder cars only such as Preludes, Acuras, Tempos, Civics, Mustangs and so on ( NO FULL FRAME CARS, UNI-BODY ONLY )
- All flammable interior must be removed except for drivers seat (DASH MUST STAY IN !!!). All windows except for windshield must be removed. Lights, wipers, outside mirrors and any loose trim also must be removed.
- Must bolt a minimum 4 inches in width bar down the middle of the windshield from roof to firewall, if no windshield u must have a screen bolted more than half way across where the windshield used to be .
- You may use the turn key ignition or toggle switch start.
- If running an electric fuel pump you MUST put an "E" on the car beside the number you get assigned for the race (example : 30E) and also have a shut off switch mounted on the upright.
- Drivers upright minimum 3" x 3/16" pipe must be bolted behind drivers seat from floor to roof with 4-3/4 inch or bigger bolts in top and bottom and have flanges welded to each end with a minimum of 6" x 6" x 3/16" steel plate .
- Cross bar with a minimum of 3" x 3/16" pipe and flanged on both ends with adequate plates, bolts and washers. Must be mounted behind seat from drivers door to passenger door.
- Minimum 8" in width channel iron, box steel or I beam door bar must be bolted (NOT welded to car) to drivers door(s) . Bar cannot go inside wheel wells (Passenger door bar optional). Cross bar must be bolted to door bar .
- Doors MUST be chained , bolted or welded shut.
- Drivers seat has to be bolted down solid (NO BENCH SEATS)
- Drivers door and upright MUST be padded.
- Cars with sunroofs must cover the hole with adequate sheet metal with a minimum of 4 bolts or use a window net that is properly mounted .
- Battery box must be bolted solid with 4 -1/2 inch bolts or bigger on passenger floor . NO plastic marine boxes allowed, must be wood or metal with foam inside to protect battery and lid closed with a metal strap or seatbelt across the top and bolted to floor.
- Original gas tanks MUST be removed if your building it for the derby as well , if tanks are ahead of the rear wheels and its going to be used for a hornet after, you may leave it in. (revised April 14, 2008)
- Gas box must be bolted in back seat area solid with 4 -1/2 inch bolts or bigger (NO plastic boxes allowed such as coolers) with lid bolted or strapped like battery box, must have a drain hole under box.
- 5 point harness with anti sub belt (track rule), a Snell 90 or newer helmet with fire proof racing suit required. Window net must be bolted on tight going across the drivers window.
- Must chain bumpers solid enough to not fall off, NO pinning or welding allowed and must have stock bumpers and shocks.
- Hood must be chained in 2 places only and latch must be removed so it can be opened in case of fire. Hood hinges must remain in stock position. NO hood pins .
- MUST have 2 - 4"x6" holes in hood or larger above exhaust manifold(s) in case of fire.
- Trunk or hatch must be chained or bolted closed and remain in stock position.
- NO welding anywhere on car except for doors !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Trailer hitches and balls must be removed.
- Floor shifter is optional but recommended.
- All 4 tires and spares must be of the same size, NO racing tires allowed and must be DOT approved street tires.
- NO suspension work can be done as in springs or sway bars, must be stock.
- You may run an expansion tank instead of a radiator but it must be bolted in solid .
- You must have white flag mounted on floor beside seat so we know your ok .
- Please paint the cars nice. We don't want to see original paint and NO solid black cars allowed. Maximum black allowed will be 1/2 of car . Numbers you are given after you register MUST be painted on roof (2'x2' minimum) as well on both quarter panels (1' in height minimum) so that they are big enough to read for recording.
